Wilderness Village Memberships
Wilderness Village Memberships
Wilderness Village offers two types of membership for access to its facilities: Full Shareholding (long-term) membership and Season’s Pass (short-term) membership.
A common misconception is that having a membership guarantees a permanent, static campsite. However, with nearly 800 members and only 424 campsites, this is not possible at our Resort. As a Member, you are always guaranteed a place to camp, but we do not reserve specific campsites for individuals.
When you visit the Resort, you are required to occupy your RV for the duration of your stay on a campsite. Additionally, the RV must be returned to the storage compound at the end of your stay. If you prefer to tow your own RV, you are welcome to do so. However, if you’d like us to move your RV for you, there is a fee for this service.
Full Shareholding Membership
A Full Shareholding Membership is sold as a lifetime membership plus 20 years. The 20-year portion can be willed, sold, or transferred when you are ready to retire from the Resort. This membership grants access to 180 nights per year across all seasons, if you choose.
Your primary RV may be stored in our compound year-round, and you will have access to firewood and various amenities. This lifetime membership lasts for your entire lifetime and does not impose a limit on the number of years, unlike some other memberships. It provides a lifetime term with a shareholding status, meaning you have a say in important decisions made for our not-for-profit Resort, such as voting on capital expenditures and Board of Directors elections. Shareholders may also run for the Board, which is a voluntary position.
Membership Cost:
- $30,612.50 (includes share and GST)
- Annual Maintenance Dues: Currently $1,575 plus GST (payable annually in January). The first year of maintenance dues are waived for the first year, with the purchase of a new membership.
Privileges include:
- Guaranteed site access, especially on long weekends
- Complimentary year-round storage of your primary RV
- No nightly camping fees (to a maximum of 180 nights per year)
- Access to all Resort amenities
Transferable 20-Year Term:
- The membership includes a fully transferable 20-year term, which can be sold or transferred when you are ready to retire from the Resort.
Financing Option:
- Financing may be available through the Rocky Credit Union.
- Wilderness Village does NOT provide direct financing for Memberships.
Season Pass Membership
A Season Pass is valid from May 1 to October 2 for the year it is purchased, allowing for up to 154 nights of camping during this period. Your primary RV may be stored at the Resort during this time, but it must be removed by October 2.
This membership provides a single-season, short-term type of membership from May 2 to October 1, offering many of the privileges of a Full Membership, including:
- Primary RV storage during the term
- No nightly camping fees
- Guaranteed spot, especially on long weekends
Maintenance dues and AGM voting rights do not apply to Season Passes. Season Passes are available for sale each year, beginning in January.
Cost: $5,500.00 plus GST
Membership Restrictions
The Full Shareholding Membership is non-transferable to independent adult children, extended family members, business partners, or anyone outside of a civil union. It is intended for the primary Member and their immediate family, with dependent children only.

Membership Transfers
Wilderness Village membership terms may be transferred to another individual through a private sale or transferred to an eligible direct family member. Wilderness Village Resort does not set the private sale price, negotiate sales, or act as a broker between buyers and sellers.
Private Membership Sales
Members wishing to sell their membership are responsible for finding their own purchaser and negotiating the sale price and terms directly with the buyer. Once a buyer has been found, the selling member and purchaser must contact the Wilderness Village Resort office to complete the required membership transfer documentation.
Membership Transfer Fees
Membership Transfer Fees apply to all transfers and are payable directly to Wilderness Village Resort. Transfer fees are based on the remaining term of the membership and are prorated for declining membership terms. The transfer fee may be paid by the seller, the buyer, or shared between both parties, as agreed upon between the buyer and seller. Wilderness Village can provide the applicable transfer fee before the parties complete the sale.
Before Purchasing a Membership
Anyone considering purchasing a Wilderness Village membership privately is strongly encouraged to contact the Resort office before completing the purchase or providing payment to the seller.
Wilderness Village can verify:
- the remaining membership term available for transfer;
- whether the membership is in good standing and eligible to be transferred;
- the approximate current market value associated with that membership term; and
- the applicable Membership Transfer Fee.
Our staff can also explain the transfer process, current annual fees, membership rules and the ongoing obligations associated with membership.
For privacy reasons, Wilderness Village will not disclose personal, account-specific financial, or other confidential information about the current member.
Purchasers should not assume that possession of a membership certificate, bill of sale, or private agreement with a seller means that the membership has been officially transferred. A private sale between a buyer and seller does not complete the membership transfer.
The transfer is complete only after all required documentation and applicable fees have been received and the transfer has been processed by Wilderness Village Resort.
Allow Ten Business Days for Processing
Please allow up to 10 business days for Wilderness Village to complete a membership transfer once all required documentation, information and applicable fees have been received. Buyers and sellers should consider this processing period when determining their sale and possession dates.
Transfers to Direct Family Members
A membership may be transferred directly to an eligible family member rather than sold to an unrelated purchaser. For membership transfer purposes, direct family members include:
- Children
- Siblings
- Parents
Direct family transfers must still be processed through the Wilderness Village Resort office. Required transfer documentation must be completed and the applicable Membership Transfer Fee paid. Members considering transferring their membership to a direct family member should contact the Resort office in advance so staff can explain the requirements and ensure the transfer is completed correctly.
Important Information
All memberships remain subject to the Wilderness Village Campground Association Articles of Association, Resort Rules, Member Regulations, policies, annual fees and other applicable membership requirements. Any outstanding amounts or other requirements that prevent a membership from being transferred must be addressed before the transfer can be completed.
Thinking of Buying, Selling or Transferring a Membership?
Contact the Wilderness Village Resort office before completing the transaction.
Our staff can explain the process, confirm the applicable transfer fee and membership term, and help ensure your membership transfer is completed and properly recorded.
Member StaysMembers (Full Shareholding or Season Pass) of Wilderness Village do not currently have to make reservations as they all have electronic gate cards to access the resort at any time they choose. Arrangements do have to be made in advance for optional services to be performed such as towing, on-site septic pumping and site plowing (during the winter months). To make these arrangements, members may call our office (403) 845-2145 or email us. |
